India’s 2nd largest GSM Mobile Service operator Vodafone Essar which acquired 3G spectrum in 10 circles – Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (E) and West Bengal today said that it will roll-out 3G Mobile and Data services in a phased manner by the end of March 2011.
According to the statement by Vodafone, The operator will launch 3G Mobile and Data services in end of this fiscal year (end of March 2011).
“We have a 3G-ready network, currently in optimisation which we will be launching very quickly. Our approach is to give our customers a world class experience, we will launch 3G service a city-wise basis and not pan-India or circle-wise. Presently, trials of 3G service are on and the service is expected to be launched in a phased manner by March” said Naveen Chopra, Vodafone Essar Director (Enterprise and Carrier Business).
