Samsung Galaxy Pop Now in India With CDMA Flavor

Following MTS HTC Smartphone (HTC Hero CDMA aka Droid Eris) launched as MTS Pulse, Samsung India announced the launch of  Galaxy Pop CDMA (i599).
The smartphone will hit the market for Rs. 9750. This would be the 4th CDMA Android smartphone officially available in Indian market, after Galaxy i899 &  i500 and MTS Pulse and 1st CDMA smartphone which is powered by Android 2.2.
Online retailer Flipkart.com is selling this CDMA smartphone at Rs. 9500 with free home delivery.
This mid range CDMA smartphone from Samsung certainly enriches its Android portfolio of Galaxy series.
There are no hardware differences between the Galaxy Pop CDMA and its GSM cousin. This smartphone is an Open Market Handset (OMH) device, so you can choose any CDMA operator (Reliance/Tata Indicom/MTS/BSNL/MTNL/Ping/Virgin).
Galaxy Pop is better choice than MTS Pulse, as Pop CDMA is powered with Android 2.2 Froyo and its price is below 10K. It is expected Reliance and Tata will offer bundled plans with this smartphone. As the phone has support for EVDO Rev A (downlink upto 3.1Mbps and uplink upto 1.8Mbps), Reliance and Tata is expected to give bundled data usage for free for 2-3 months with this device.
