AIRCEL, one of the fastest growing Pan India telecom operator today announced the launch of new Rate Curter-27 (Special Tariff voucher) for its prepaid GSM mobile service customer in Tamilnadu and Chennai telecom circle to make STD calls at cheapest rates.
 

The RC-27 is priced at Rs. 27 wherein one can make Local and STD calls to any mobile numbers across India at 30 paisa minutes valid for 30 days from the date of recharge.

To subscribe or check plan validity Aircel Chennai /Tamilnadu customers can dial *333*27# from their mobile phone. For more details one can dial 98420-12345 /98410-12345 or 121 from Aircel.

Tata Docomo and Aircel Terminate 3G Roaming Deal

Tata DOCOMO, the unified telecom brand of Tata Teleservices and AIRCEL the fifth largest mobile service provider today called off their mutual agreement for Intra circle 3G Roaming services.

According to our sources, both operator ended the deal soon after the Government/Department of Telecom said that such 3G ICRA or arrangements were illegal. 3G Roaming arrangement between Tata Docomo and Aircel was operational since July 19th, 2011 as we reported earlier.

Few days back the Telecom Ministry also said it will soon take action against service providers that have entered into roaming agreements for 3G services, as the pacts violate licence terms and conditions.

Apart from the Tata Docomo and Aircel, leading private telecom operators Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Essar and IDEA Cellular had also entered into ICRA for providing a 3G roaming service on a pan-India basis but have not pulled back the 3G service so far till the time.

The current 3G / UAS /CMTS licence terms and conditions allow operators to go in for Roaming agreements to enable their subscribers to get seamless mobile network coverage as they move from one circle to other circle in India wherein they doesn’t have any network/spectrum or services. 

But in 3G services, all private operators are selling their 3G products and new connections even in circles where they do not have 3G spectrum/licence. Operators having 3G spectrum pay higher revenue share in the form of ‘ 3G spectrum usage fee’, and the DoT is concerned about allegations of alleged revenue losses to the exchequer because of these pacts.

Presently on state run telecom operators BSNL and MTNL providing pan India 3G services with all legal terms and conditions of 3G licence.

Aircel Introduces 3G Pocket Finder-Location Based VAS

Always wondering where your nearest and dearest is? Eager to locate a friend (in a way that doesn’t violate their privacy)? Yes! AIRCEL’s exciting new Value Added Service Dubbed as 3G Pocket Finder, your ‘liked’ or loved one is always just few clicks away!

The service is just similar to another MTNL’s Friend Finder Service, However Aircel added some more features and social networking (FaceBook / Twitter) integration.

The AIRCEL Pocket Finder service is only for 3G circles only or where Aircel launched its 3G service and cost Rs. 10 per month + SMS and 3G Data charges.

Aircel Pocket Finder can serve following way:

Find Me: It will let you know your current position & you can share your position with Facebook/Twitter.

Local Serach: This helps you to search for information on petrol pumps, ATMs, hospitals, restaurants etc. You can get driving directions to them, look for their location on the map, or simply get their contact information.

Friend Finder: The most useful tool in this service. Using this application you can get the current positions of your friends. You can directly call/SMS them according to your requirement.According to Aircel the location is accurate to between about 400 to 500 meters.

To subscribe this service one have to send a SMS by typing “FM” to 54654. After subscribing there is 4 ways to use this service:

(i)Via WAP: Goto 3g.pocketinternet.in and choose “Services” and after that “Pocket Finder”.

(ii). Via USSD: Simply dial the *567# and get the pocket finder menu. On the menu you can then opt for the service as per the format stated in the return string. All services are available on the return string.

(iii)Via SMS:

1.To find a friend, SMS in the format ‘FF 10 digit mobile number of friend’ to 54654.

2.The recipient mobile number will get a SMS from 54654 with the text “Your friend your 10 digit mobile number wants to add you as a friend. SMS “Yes” to accept and “No” to reject.”

3.If your friend accepts, you can then track their location.

AIRCEL Launches 3G Webpage

India’s fifth largest GSM Mobile Service operator AIRCEL today launched a dedicated 3G page on its website that will address subscribers’ queries and concerns regarding the next generation Mobile and Data services.

The Aircel 3G page on its website gives an Overview of what this technology is and what it can do. It also provides information on Aircel 3G Zones established in Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin, Coimbatore and Bangalore wherein one can explore the upcoming 3G mobile anddata services with speed up to 21.1 Mbps.

In 3G Spectrum Auction, AIRCEL emerged as the biggest spender which bagged 3G license for its strong hold areas and covers almost South and East region of the country. It has 3G spectrum in 13 circles – Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka,Tamil Nadu (including Chennai) Kerala , Punjab, U.P (East), Kolkata, West Bengal, Bihar & Jharkhand, Orissa, Assam, North East, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Aircel Launches STV-24, STD Calls Rs. 1 Per 3 Minutes

AIRCEL, one of the fastest growing Pan India telecom operator today announced the launch of new  STV-24 (Special Tariff voucher) for its prepaid GSM mobile service customer in Mumbai telecom circle to make long distance/ STD Calls at Rs. 1 for 3 minute.

The STV-24 is priced at Rs. 24 wherein one can make STD calls to any numbers across India at Rs. 1 for 3 minutes. Remaining tariffs such Local ISD,VAS, etc will be as per the customers existing plan (PPS/PPM). The STD call tariff will be valid for 7 days from the date of recharge.
