India’s largest telecommunication company, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has taken drastic changes of most of its prepaid mobile plans under both 2G and 3G services.
Under extreme competition from the over crowded telecom sector and huge demand of user friendly plans, BSNL changes its complete mobile portfolio with user friendly plans like Uniform 1 Paisa Per Second Tariff for all Local and STD own-net and off-net calls, Free Unlimited Incoming calls while National Roaming with STV-Rs.12, New STVs for 3 minutes call Duration, Night STVs and lot more. New plans are to be implemented on all circles across India
Now separate validity voucher is no more required to increase the validity. Customer will get validity along with talk value as and when he/she top up.Even existing prepaid plans have been rationalized to 7 distinct plans.
Now One Plan is Life Time Plan and other 6 plans are General plans.One plan each is exclusively for 2G and 3G. All other plans are common for both 2G and 3G.
The FRCs and tariff for 2G & 3G prepaid voice plans henceforth available are as under

At Unlimited free local calls to one BSNL Landline/WLL (Fixed/Limited Mobility) number in his/her own name.
In case of Student Special plan, the customer will get additional plan validity of 30 days and 300 free Local SMS and 100 MB free data usage on recharge of Student Special voucher of Rs. 25 (Incl. of S. Tax) with Nil talk value.
If it is technically feasible, the above amount may be deducted from his balance on the basis of any request through SMS and the same may be continued till the customer deactivate this facility.
Processing fee of Rs. 2 for C-Top-up/Flexi Top-up upto Rs. 50 is to be deducted.
All existing unsold Recharge Vouchers will be allowed as Top-up vouchers. In case of existing RCVs /Top-ups with MRP Rs. 1100, Rs. 3300 and Rs. 5500, the existing usage value and validity will continue to be applicable.
vi) In case of Assam, J&K and North East LSAs validity of plan is subject to the guidelines/instructions issued by Govt. of India/Regulatory Authority from time to time.
Migration from one prepaid plan to other (except Pyari Jodi & Student Special) is free. However, a nominal amount of Rs. 1 to Rs. 5 will be charged for technical configuration.
Value of freebies offered with plan activation is more than the initial amount paid by the customer for SIM and plan Activation.
USP of the revised plans are as under:-
Saral Anant:- Lifetime validity. With every recharge/top-up customer will get validity also in addition to talk value.
“1p/sec”- All voice calls , local on-net/ off net, STD on-net / off- net , roaming will be charged at the uniform rate of 1p/ sec. For Video calls also Per sec pulse has been introduced.
“all@49” – All voice calls , Local on-net/ off net, STD on-net / off- net , Roaming will be charged at the uniform rate of 49p/ Min. SMS Local, National & Roaming will also be charged @49p.
2G Special: Reduced local voice call charges on two BSNL numbers @20P/Min and STD call to one BSNL number @30p/Min.
3G Special: Attractive video call facility with On-net call charges at 70paisa/Min and Off-net calls for Rs.1.00/Min in Home LSA as well as in National Roaming.
“Pyari Jodi”- Unlimited FREE local calls to one BSNL Fixed/WLL number. All voice calls (Local/STD-On-net/Off-net) @ 1p/sec. No separate validity voucher for extension of plan beyond the initial plan validity which will be extended to customer on top-up for talk value.
“Student Special”- Student Special has been made as a separate plan with attractive call charges of Rs.0.40/Min (On-net) and Rs.0.60/Min (Off-net).
5 Friends and Family numbers with Local call charges @ Rs.0.10/Min (On-net) and Rs.0.30/Min (Off-net) are also available.
The student will get 300 free Local SMS and 100 MB free data usage on recharge of Student Special Validity voucher of Rs. 25 (Incl. of S. Tax) with Nil talk value and 30 days validity. Beyond free usage, local SMS will be charged @ 5 paisa per SMS.
Reduced call facility on 3 BSNL numbers is available to all the prepaid plans. Reduced voice call charges on two BSNL local numbers @20P/Min and on one STD BSNL number @30p/Min is applicable to 2G Spl, 3G Spl, Pyari Jodi and Student Special plans.
The reduced call charges for Saral Anant, “1p/sec” & “all@49” plans are 30p/Min. on two BSNL local numbers and 50p/Min on one STD BSNL number.
New STV (Rs.28 with validity of 30 days) with call charges of Local/STD Rs.1.00/3 Min (On-net) & Rs.1.20/3 (Off-net) and STV (Rs.12 with validity of 15 days) with UNLIMITED FREE Incoming call facility while National Roaming in BSNL Network have been introduced.
Modified STV (Rs.17 with validity of 30 days) with Local/STD On-net Night call charges @ Rs.0.05/Min (11PM to 06 AM).and STV (Rs.50 with validity of 30 days) with Local On-net call charges @ 10p/Min have been introduced.
Existing STVs “1p/sec” and “all @ 49” are withdrawn. If Saral Anant customer desires to avail these tariffs, he may migrate to “1p/sec plan” or “all @ 49 plan.”
In case of existing prepaid 2G & 3G General, the nomenclature has been changed and made 2G Special and 3G Special. The revised tariff will be automatically applicable to these customers from the date of implementation.The circle specific prepaid tariff plans will continue as it is.
Wherever F&F facility or reduced call charges facilities are allowed, for any change of existing F&F number Rs. 5/- per number per occasion is to be charged.
MRP of FRC, RCV, Top-up, STV, Migration Voucher etc is inclusive of Service Tax at 10.30%. Circles can suitably adjust the MRP in the price band upto Rs. 3 (+/-) of above price considering the local market condition and technical feasibility.
All other terms and conditions will remain same. The Reformulation and Launch of New STVs will be applicable on Pan India basis and effective from 10th June, 2011.
